Re: Protege on MacOS 10.7 and 10.8: OWLViz broken; no version of graphviz seems to work

Hi Rafael,

We had a problem Thursday with OWL Viz, however I don't think it was a Mac issue. My initial impression was that it was an installation issue (wasn't on my machine), but now I recall Djoko saying that it wasn't an install issue. Djoko - please fill in.

(My suggestion was to check to install, and if problem persisted check web, ask on mailing list and if no success, report it.)

We aslo had a problem with protege crashing when we ran the reasoner
this was when one our properties was defined as a data property, but did not crash when defined as an object property.
Again, Djoko can fill in the details.

Joanne

Only on my older Mac (OSX 10.6) does the Protege plugin OWLViz work; in OSX 10.7 and 10.8, no matter what version of graphviz is installed (using Homebrew), OwlViz does not work.

The documentation does not seem to help here. The CompatibleWith property needs to be extended and linked to external dependencies:

1. Operating System type
2. Operating system version
3. Java version
4. External application version (graphviz, etc.)

Has anyone else had the same problem? Suggestions?

Thank you
