How Freebase deals with boxed sets, and multi-part releases, etc.

I just wanted to let Dan know, and anyone else, to keep in the back of his
mind for later on...

In Freebase we began some work on a generalization of a MediaPackage to
handle boxed sets, etc.
I guess you could think of it in general as a Thing that has Parts ?, but
more specifically, it's a multi-part media release which is then "packaged".

Which we choose to use the term "Components" for that type, instead of the
more confusing "Parts".

Here's the Domain Schema that you can explore and see some of the Freebase
Types that we created:

https://www.freebase.com/base/mediapackage?schema=

One of the interesting types is MediaPackage itself, defined in Freebase as

"any multi-part media release (such as a DVD boxed set). Packages consist
of multiple Media Releases, which represent the units of a package (such as
a single DVD). Media Releases in turn contain one or more Audio or Video
items (such as each of the TV episodes on a DVD of a television show."

Here's a single instance of what one MediaPackage looks like:

PLEASE CLICK on the below link to really understand it, and notice the
discs under Components for Media Package, this is not a completely filled
out example, but the fastest one I could find...

Hope it helps in the future,
