Dear all, I think I mentioned this work in the Dataset Exchange WG before. I believe that this notion of profile, and furthermore of profile-based content-negociation, can be useful for RDF 1.2, especially if we want to support different levels of conformance and/or new features in the future. This notion of profile might be slightly different from the one that the DXWG is primarily targetting, but the generalization seems relevant. Do not hesitate to fill-in the doodle if you are interested. best -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Doodle Poll to restart ConnegP and Profiles sub-Groups Resent-Date: Tue, 28 Feb 2023 09:59:41 +0000 Resent-From: public-dxwg-wg@w3.org Date: Tue, 28 Feb 2023 20:59:18 +1100 From: Rob Atkinson <ratkinson@ogc.org> To: Dataset Exchange Working Group <public-dxwg-wg@w3.org> Dear DXWG participants The time has come to restart working groups on the Content-Negotiation-by-Profile (ConnegP) and PROF vocabularies. This has been overdue for a time and the specification editors have been busy, however some of that background work has borne fruit - the OGC will publish a formal profile of DCAT: GeoDCAT - and potentially a set of subsidiary profiles for specific spatio-temporal data set patterns. Formalisation using PROF may require some discussion regarding best practices and guidance, and the sub-working group can support any such communities. The OGC has also started publication of a suite of OpenAPI standards, with functionality that can be mapped to the ConnegP "Query String Argument" abstract requirement. External interest in the ConnegP functionality has also grown, with queries from a number of organisations and working groups. Restarting the working group provides an opportunity to review these opportunities and determine the pathway forward. In the meantime PROF has been used heavily in operationalising data transformation and validation pipelines for managing knowledge graphs and validating examples in specifications. At this stage no significant updates to PROF are planned, but the working group can allow for discussion of concrete issues, and maintenance of the associated "roles" vocabulary which was always intended to be extensible. I have created a Doodle Poll to find a time that can support the editors and the interested parties from europe so far, however we can explore multiple or alternate time slots if required for active (implementing) participants in other time zones. https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/b28Z7vMe Regards Rob Atkinson *Senior Research Engineer * | Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Mobile: +61 419 202973 ratkinson@ogc.org <mailto:ratkinson@ogc.org>| ogc.org <http://ogc.org/>| @opengeospatial Sign up for OGC News <https://ogc.us4.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=704e02f81107a6caab1568067&id=4e4528fd9d> Sign up for OGC News <https://ogc.us4.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=704e02f81107a6caab1568067&id=4e4528fd9d>
