http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3593 Summary: URI for collations Product: XPath / XQuery / XSLT Version: Candidate Recommendation Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Functions and Operators AssignedTo: ashok.malhotra@oracle.com ReportedBy: davidc@nag.co.uk QAContact: public-qt-comments@w3.org bug #3472 has the surprising comment Note that the F&O also defines a URL for the codepoint collation and there was no discission of this URL. In the current document it is http://www.w3.org/2006/xpath-functions/collation/codepoint. If anyone thinks this, too should be frozen to 2005, please raise a new issue. Surely this should be frozen, to the same ...2005.. form as all the other URIs. Changing the URIs every draft caused terrible problems for users introducing needless incompatibilities between systems as updates happened. It was a great relief when it was finally agreed to stop doing this at the CR drafts. I can't see any possible benefits in not freezing this URI and had always assumed it was just a simple typo in the last draft of F&O that had the function and collation URIS with a 2006. I'm amazed that there be a suggestion that there has to be an issue raised to have this fixed, but since you ask for such an issue to be raised, I'm raising this new issue. David
