Martin, This message responds to one of the XQuery Last Call comments that you posted on behalf of the I18n WG, specifically, comment number [9] in the message located at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-qt-comments/2004Feb/0415.html. The XML Query WG has considered this comment and agrees with the sentiment and the need for examples to reflect more of the world than the United States. The editors of all of the documents under the auspices of the XML Query WG have been asked to be more sensitive to this requirement when writing future examples, and they have been encouraged to consider whether there are the resources available to alter existing examples when other work is being performed nearby in the documents. However, the WG knows that there are not sufficient resources to undertake the job of rewriting possibly many examples for this desirable purpose, since there are far more urgent requirements on our editors. Please let us know if this resolution is not satisfactory. Hope this helps, Jim ======================================================================== Jim Melton --- Editor of ISO/IEC 9075-* (SQL) Phone: +1.801.942.0144 Co-Chair, W3C XML Query WG; F&O (etc.) editor Fax : +1.801.942.3345 Oracle Corporation Oracle Email: jim dot melton at oracle dot com 1930 Viscounti Drive Standards email: jim dot melton at acm dot org Sandy, UT 84093-1063 USA Personal email: jim at melton dot name ======================================================================== = Facts are facts.
