Other uses for specializationOf (FYI)

In the past couple of weeks, I've come across two likely uses for
specializationOf from outside the immediate concerns of provenance:

(1) as part of the NISO ResourceSync (repository synchronization) work, it is
now a proposal for indicating a relationship between a resource which has
multiple possible representations, and a resource which is a particular
representation of that resource.

(2) as part of my Wf4Ever work on APIs for accessing Research Objects, and
related to ORE proxies, it might be used to describe an occurrence of a resource
within the context of a research object (or ORE aggregation) as opposed to the
resource used more widely. (This is currently just an idea of mine which has
not yet been discussed with the wider project. Note that such use would not
cover the actual contextualization semantics, but could be used to trace from
the occurrence to the more general case.)

This is just for information, and I'm not expecting this to have any particular
impact on the work under way, except maybe to sensitize people to possible wider
applicability.
