RE: 48-Hour Call for Consensus (CfC): Publish FPWD of HTML-AAM

+1 with the following input.

Recommendations:

Within the section: 4.4 HTML Element Role Mappings

Dd states "No corresponding role"
ARIA definition? http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#definition

Input (type attribute in the Checkbox state and parent is a menu): maps to role=checkbox
This should be role=menuitemcheckbox
http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#menuitemcheckbox

There should also be another mapping for A tag such as the following:
A (represents a hyperlink and parent is a menu): should map to role=menuitem

(Regarding tables)

Td: states "No corresponding role"
ARIA gridcell? http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#gridcell

tfoot and tbody and thead: states "No corresponding role"
ARIA rowgroup? http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#rowgroup

Th (is a column header): states "No corresponding role"
ARIA columnheader? http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#columnheader

Th (is a row header): states "No corresponding role"
ARIA rowheader? http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#rowheader

Tr: states "No corresponding role"
ARIA row? http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/roles#row

Just a suggestion, but the above table mappings might be helpful when role=table is introduced.

Subject: 48-Hour Call for Consensus (CfC): Publish FPWD of HTML-AAM

Colleagues:

This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to the Protocols and Formats Working Group
(PFWG) requesting approval to publish a First Public Working Draft
(FPWD) of "HTML Accessibility API Mappings 1.0 (HTML-AAM)."

http://w3c.github.io/aria/html-aam/html-aam.html

The HTML-A11Y Task Force has reached consensus to publish this FPWD as logged in:

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2015Mar/0054.html

A concurrent CfC will be ongoing in the HTML-WG. The relationship of this new document to our former HTML mapping document, as well as to parallel work on SVG mappings is explained to the HTML-WG in:

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2015Mar/0065.html

ACTION TO TAKE

According to agreed PFWG Consensus Procedures, this CfC is now open for objection, comment, as well as statements of support via email. Silence will be interpreted as support, though messages of support are certainly welcome.

If you object to this proposed action, or have comments concerning this proposal, please respond by replying on list to this message no later than
23:59 PM (Midnight) Boston Time, Tuesday 24 March.

Janina
