Note that this wasn't, afaict, a formal vote, but a straw poll. Jeremy indicated that HP would not formally object so no formal vote was needed (i.e., we had consensus on the telecon). The only information we had about your position was that you'd abstain: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-owl-wg/2008Jan/0061.html """I don't feel strongly about this - far as I can tell, it will have very little impact on any communities I feel I represent, so barring arguments I haven't yet heard, I would happily abstain on the closing of this one""" There were no new arguments down thread in favor of this issue. Thus, I think it was perfectly reasonable for the group to conclude that it has consensus generally, albeit with qualms by some participants. As I said in my proposal email, if these qualms turn into new information, the chairs can reopen the issue: http://www.w3.org/2005/10/Process-20051014/policies.html#WGChairReopen Cheers, Bijan. P.S. I change the subject line to reflect the topic of discussion. Also, tracker will pick up an email that has the issue name in it, which makes it much easier to track discussion.
