Re: Introductions

Hi,

My name is Ross Jones, I'm a developer in the UK and a co-founder/COO of
Open Health Care UK, an open-source health startup.  I am also a developer
on the data.gov.uk site, which I joined directly from working at OKFN;
neither of which organisations I represent here in any way. I'm here
primarily as an individual although my hope is that the discussions and
specifications to come out of this group will give me plenty to discuss
with both of those teams.

My interest in this area has only arisen in the last couple of years, when
I was fortunate enough to work with two of the mySociety co-founders at
ScraperWiki in 2010, but I am hopeful that I will be able to contribute in
a constructive, and possibly even useful way. I am not a big fan of
government mandated standards, having been forced to use the UK e-GIF (now
thankfully retired at

in a previous part of my career, but I am optimistic that community driven
specifications are the way forward.
