OntoLex Community Group - Moving Forward

Dear Members of the OntoLex Community Group,

We would like to thank you all for your contributions to this CG.
OntoLex has grown to be the premier method of representing lexicographic
data using linked data and its success is due to the commitment of all
the members.

At this stage we would like to make some changes to streamline and
simplify the process of developing further modules and make some
announcements of future directions for the model.

Modules can be proposed by any member and a working group and resources
including GitHub will be set up by the chairs. Each module should have
at least two chairs to lead the development. Any member of the group may
propose a module on this mailing list.

Each module should meet for a monthly meeting that will be announced on
this mailing list and published in this calendar:

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/1?cid=Nzc5NjIwZTcyNzljZDdhYmRiMDU5ODhhMWU3ZGNkOTcxMGMzMWVlZDJkYmE4N2ZlOTQ2MjhhNDEwODNiODQ0ZEBncm91cC5jYWxlbmRhci5nb29nbGUuY29t

Modules will aim to produce a specification and use case document within
six months of the start, and a draft specification within 12 months of
the specification document.

The drafts will be reviewed by the community in 3 month cycles, in which
comments will be solicited from the community group. Once the draft is
stable (defined as not having received any comments during the last
cycle), it will be released as a report of the CG.

To this end, we will organise meetings of the FrAC and Morph module in
the next few weeks. If you wish to participate, you can express your
availability for a time to meet here:

FrAC: https://calendly.com/d/ckp4-mnb-8pr/ontolex-frac-meeting

Morph: https://calendly.com/d/cpmw-z44-rs4/ontolex-morph

In addition, we will start a new group looking at creating an updated
version of the OntoLex Core, that will also meet. Please, complete the
following poll if you are interested in participating:

OntoLex Core 2.0: https://calendly.com/d/cqjc-7hw-wxx/ontolex-core-2-0

We also welcome any other comments from the community.

Regards,

John McCrae on behalf of the OntoLex Community Group Chairs
