SALLD-1 @ LDK 2021 – Workshop on Sentiment Analysis & Linguistic Linked Data – CALL FOR PAPERS
SALLD-1. The first workshop on Sentiment Analysis and Linguistic Linked Data (SALLD-1) will be held in conjunction with LDK 2021 – 3rd Conference on Language, Data and Knowledge – in Zaragoza, Spain on June 14, 2021.
Format. The half-day workshop comprises oral papers, a demo session, and a concluding panel.
Concepts. Sentiment Analysis (SA<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentiment_analysis>) refers “to the use of natural language processing, text analysis, computational linguistics, and biometrics to systematically identify, extract, quantify, and study affective states and subjective information”, while [open] Linguistic Linked Data (LLD<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linguistic_Linked_Open_Data>) is “concerned with creating, sharing, and (re-)using language resources in accordance with Linked Data principles”. SALLD-1 will explore principles, methodologies, resources, tools and applications combining SA and LLD.
Context. SALLD-1 is initiated in the context of the NexusLinguarum COST Action – European network for Web-centred linguistic data science (CA 18209<https://nexuslinguarum.eu/>), which supports LDK 2021.
Topics. We invite submissions offering diverse perspectives on this joint subject matter, such as regarding any domain (e.g. general media or social media, literary texts and digital humanities, fintech, cybersecurity, and so on); modelling and technical features; lexical resources and complex multi-level structure; emotion, hate speech and common words that become abusive in specific context; keywords, tags, polarity, standards, and any other related issue. Reviews or encodings and interconnection of SA tasks applying semantic technologies with LLD are also welcome.
The workshop topics thus include, but are not limited to:

  *   Sentiment Analysis
  *   Linguistic Linked (Open) Data
  *   Natural Language Processing
  * Semantic Web and the Web of Data
  * Lexical/Textual Resource modelling, annotation, and conversion to Linked Data
  * Metadata, Categories, Workflows, Keywords, and Standards
  * Understanding and predicting user and group behavior
  * Offensive language identification, classification, and interaction with polarity and emotion
Submission. Please submit your 1,000-word abstract via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=salld1.

Abstracts are not required to adhere to any specific layout template.

Accepted submissions will be published by OASIcs in an open-access conference proceedings volume. The proceedings will include full papers consisting of a maximum of 15 pages.

As the reviewing process is single-blind, submissions should not be anonymized.

At least one author of each accepted paper must register to LDK 2021 to present the paper at the workshop.

Covid-19. If the epidemiological situation and travel restrictions do not allow for a physical event, SALLD-1 will be held virtually, in which case the format may change to accommodate the specifics of online events. Proceedings will be published in either case.
