Dear all, you might find it of interest that two former students of mine has had a paper on embedding metadata accepted for the Virtual Goods 2013 conference in Koblenz later this year. The paper, "Exploring Challenges in Embedding Metadata of Licences and Attribution in Digital Work" is based on their bachelor thesis with the same name (supervised by me). In their thesis, they conducted a qualitative case study and explored the challenges of embedding metadata of licence and attribution requirements information in digital work, from both social/legal and technological perspectives. The study resulted in a list of challenges, practical problems, and suggestions in terms of the implementation of such software. For your reference, I've placed a copy of their thesis submission on the following URL (this differs slightly in form and scope from their paper but is substantially the same, though they will now rework this further for the final conference submission): http://belar.coyote.org/~jonas/Yinhe_Liu_Thesis_Final.pdf Sincerely, Jonas
