Hello, As a follow-up to this announcement, W3C has approved the charter of the Web Payment Security Interest Group today: https://www.w3.org/securepay/charter-2025.html The group is chartered through 31 March 2027. The mission of the Web Payment Security Interest Group is to enhance the security and interoperability of various Web payments technologies. The group pursues its mission by creating a forum for organizations to define areas of collaboration and identify gaps between existing technical specifications in order to increase compatibility among different technologies. Use the following form to join the group. The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants: https://www.w3.org/groups/ig/securepay/join Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community. Current participants will remain in this group and are not required to re-join. Please note that FIDO and EMVCo will provide separate mechanisms for their respective management of participation (e.g., how to join) and communications for their Members. The group co-Chairs remain: Arman Aygen, EMVCO <arman.aygen@emvco.com> David Turner, FIDO Alliance <david@fidoalliance.org> Ian Jacobs, W3C (5% FTE) <ij@w3.org> More information about the Web Payment Security IG can be found on its homepage: https://www.w3.org/groups/ig/securepay [...] To see all changes relative to the previous charter, follow this link: https://www.w3.org/securepay/diff-202501.html This announcement follows section 5.7.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20231103/#ACReviewAfter and the Call for Participation follows section 4.4 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20231103/#cfp Thank you, For Philippe le Hégaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead, Ian Jacobs, Web Payment Security IG Team Contact / co-Chair; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Proposed W3C Charter: Web Payment Security Interest Group (until 2025-03-25/26); Current Charter Extended Date: Tue, 18 Feb 2025 10:36:22 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: public-new-work@w3.org Hello, Today W3C Advisory Committee Representatives received a Proposal to review a draft charter for the Web Payment Security Interest Group: https://www.w3.org/securepay/charter-2025.html As part of ensuring that the community is aware of proposed work at W3C, this draft charter is public during the Advisory Committee review period.
