RE: Transition Request: SKOS to Proposed Recommendation

Hi Alistair,

The I18N Core WG meets on Wednesdays, so we can’t formally accept your solution as a WG until next week (19 August). However, I don’t foresee a problem with your resolution, which addresses our comments. Thank you for resolving this issue.

Best Regards,

Addison

Internationalization is not a feature.
It is an architecture.

Dear Alistair,

that resolves my concerns, thank you very much. Due to summer holidays I would propose that you regard this as accepted by the i18n core working group if you don't hear from others within 24 hours.

Felix

Dear Felix,

At its last telecon [1] the SWDWG made the following resolution w.r.t
[ISSUE-224]:

RESOLVED to resolve ISSUE-224 by deleting the final paragraph of
section 6.5.4 (from "Usually a notation system does not have...") and
example 22

This removes any mention or suggestion of the use of language subtags
for notations from the SKOS Reference.

I have implemented this resolution in a new revision (1.20) of the
SKOS Reference Editors' Draft at [2].

We believe this should satisfy all of the concerns raised by the I18N
WG. We would be very grateful if the I18N WG could state whether it
finds the resolution acceptable as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Alistair
