(This is a response in terms of how I'm editing the spec, not how the chairs might want the process to work.) Some bugs I mark LATER or REMIND. LATER bugs are bugs that I think we should revisit after we get more implementation experience or after we've let the browsers (or other relevant implementors, but it's usually browsers) catch up to where the spec is at, and that I am keeping on my radar. I regularly go through these to see if their time has come (in fact, I was going through some earlier this very morning). REMIND bugs are similar but tend to be more editorial or administrative issues that are being delayed on the basis of prioritisation or time management and not on a technical basis. If I mark the bug WONTFIX, then it's no longer on my radar. In this particular case, since we don't have much experience yet with autofocus="", it's too early to be extending the feature further (we don't yet know if it's a good idea that should be spread to more of the spec, a bad idea that we should regret and try to stamp out, or something in between). If it's a really important issue, it'll come up again (case in point: you are raising it now) -- hence my marking it WONTFIX rather than LATER: when I closed the bug, I figured it didn't need to stay on my radar as if it was something that would need to be revisited in the future, there was no doubt that it would be brought to my attention at an appropriate time. (I don't think it's yet an appropriate time. It's only been a couple of months, and autofocus="" is still not yet widely implemented or used, so we still don't have the requisite experience to proceed.) > So when will that be on the Milestone timeline? I don't follow any particular timeline. When we should add features, etc, is based primarily on implementation and authoring experience.
