http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13805 Summary: Drafts other than the most recent should be unindexable Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: HTML5 spec (editor: Ian Hickson) AssignedTo: ian@hixie.ch ReportedBy: ayg@aryeh.name QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org, public-html@w3.org When I search for "html5" on Google in incognito mode (so it hopefully doesn't rely too much on my search history), http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/ is the fifth hit, right after http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/Overview.html. This is an old Working Draft which has been superseded by subsequent Editor's Drafts, and which bears a prominent notice saying not to use it. To reduce confusion, everything other than the latest Editor's Draft should have <meta name=robots content=noindex> added to its <head>. The old snapshots will still be available at the usual URLs for those who want them, with prominent links at the top of the Editor's Draft, but they should not be turning up in search results. -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
