Summary: Language tag sameness should probably be ASCII case-
insensitive
Product: HTML WG
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Spec bugs
AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org
ReportedBy: hsivonen@iki.fi
QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
CC: ian@hixie.ch, mike@w3.org, public-html@w3.org
The sameness language in the spec for lang, xml:lang and the other xml:lang
requires exact sameness of the attribute value.
Since language tags are ASCII case-insensitive, the spec should probably be
relaxed to require ASCII case-insensitive sameness.
