Hi Ian, Has the curly braces proposal from the img section of the editor's HTML5 draft [1] been either discussed with or approved by the Protocols and Formats Working Group (PFWG) with regard to conformance with: - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) - Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) - User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG) It seems as if this proposal is for meta data and might fit better in a separate img attribute. In any event, it doesn't appear to be a text equivalent per WCAG. The HTML WG needs to be sure deliverables satisfy accessibility requirements [2]. PF are the go to guys for guidance in accessibility matters. Did you ask them? Thanks. Best Regards, Laura [1] http://www.w3.org/html/wg/html5/#alt0 [2] http://www.w3.org/2007/03/HTML-WG-charter.html#wai -- Laura L. Carlson
