Re: Introductions

Hey,

I'm Stig, and I code email templates for Campaign Monitor. It's my first time joining a W3C community group, so I'm excited to see what comes of it.

Our team at CM does a lot of research into each (commonly used) email client's HTML rendering, and maintains resources such as http://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/ and tools like http://buttons.cm/ So like a number of the participants here, I have some very narrow expertise which I would like to see made obsolete.

There are several areas I'd like to contribute to as time permits, starting with which HTML elements/properties and CSS selectors/properties/media query types to support. Support for webfonts, SVG, video, etc. would also be good, but judging by the results of previous efforts, I reckon it's best not to bite off more than we can chew initially. Prioritized suggestions of essential and less essential items might be a viable approach?

Once we have a spec and an acid test in place, there's plenty that can be done in terms of liaising between email designers/coders, email client teams, and other parties.

Cheers,
Stig
