@bertvannuffelen the answers given about the semantics of conformsTo are appropriate in my opinion. So for catalogue records, one could say for example that they conform to an application profile of DCAT, suich as GeoDCAT-AP. I was expressing (and I am happy with) the fact that DCAT does not try to express semantics of conformance across levels, as could be expressed by the property chain axioms that @rob-metalinkage hints at.
