Hi all, During the F2F at Santa Clara, we had a lot of discussions about the scope [1] and the organization of the best practices document, and some important decisions were made [2], including: - All of our best practices will be in one document, because it is easier for readers/implementers to understand and easier for editors/contributors to manage. - Each best practice will be defined according to a specific structure. During TPAC, Phil proposed a template structure [6]. - Our scoping criteria [1], i.e., requirements and best practices should be defined considering the following criteria : - Is it unique to publishing data on the Web? - Does it encourage reuse or publication of data on the Web? - Is it testable? In what way? It is really important to keep these information in mind during best practices definition. We also had an agreement abou the organization of the best practices document [3] and some contributors were defined [4]. Finally, in order to facilitate the edition of the document, new wiki pages were created for each one of the proposed sections [4]. In general, each section should have a general description about the theme (ex: Data vocabularies, Data formats...), followed by one or more best practices. It is also important to give examples to illustrate the best practices. Documents that were previously created should be adapted in order to be included in the BP document. Contributors are free to use the new wiki pages or to directly edit the draft available on github [5]. We kindly ask you to send an email to the group or to the editors when a new update is made. kind regards, Bernadette, Caroline and Newton [1] http://www.w3.org/2013/dwbp/wiki/Scope [2] http://www.w3.org/2014/10/31-dwbp-minutes.html [3] http://www.w3.org/2013/dwbp/wiki/Table_of_Contents_of_Data_on_the_Web_Best_Practices [4] http://www.w3.org/2013/dwbp/wiki/Main_Page#Best_Practices [5] http://w3c.github.io/dwbp/bp.html [6] http://philarcher.org/dwbp/bptemplate.html -- Bernadette Farias Lóscio Centro de Informática Universidade Federal de Pernambuco - UFPE, Brazil ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
