Rego, Another area where I would consider creating grid tests are all the 38 examples (with or without associated figures) in the spec. You can use the images of figures as reference files for such examples in manual tests. ( I do not know if this is already part of your test plan http://test.csswg.org/source/css-grid-1/test-plan/ ) Not only creating such tests would check the UA implementations but creating those tests also would check the spec itself. In the past, I've done this for CSS2.1 examples and then realized that a few examples or figures were impossible to create or were impossible to obtain and therefore were wrong to begin with.
