Hello, I spent quite a bit of time trying to create a reftest for http://test.csswg.org/source/approved/css2.1/src/css1/c24-first-lttr-000.xht and I'm giving up. If I choose/set FreeSerif font as my default font in Firefox 11.0, Opera 11.62 and Chrome 18.0.1025.142, then I have reftest which will work without requiring to define a specific line-height value for the 3rd first-letter of the test. But if I choose/set another font, say, DejaVu Serif font, then I notice that Firefox 11.0 would require line-height: 1.17 Chrome 18.0.1025.142 would require line-height: 1.17 Opera 11.62 would require line-height: 1.18 So, it seems that browsers implement various line-height values differently for different fonts. So, I do not see how this can be worked around .. Here's the reftest I've been working on: http://www.gtalbot.org/BrowserBugsSection/css21testsuite/reftests/TEMP-c24-first-lttr-000-ref.xht Gérard -- Contributions to the CSS 2.1 test suite: http://www.gtalbot.org/BrowserBugsSection/css21testsuite/ CSS 2.1 Test suite RC6, March 23rd 2011: http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20110323/html4/toc.html CSS 2.1 test suite harness: http://test.csswg.org/harness/ Contributing to to CSS 2.1 test suite: http://www.gtalbot.org/BrowserBugsSection/css21testsuite/web-authors-contributions-css21-testsuite.html
