Re: Publication of VC API as VCWG Draft Note

I think I succeeded in illustrating that casting doubt upon the motivations of the companies and individuals is not constructive and could have a negative impact on a WG’s culture.

I know it has not been only Digital Bazaar working on VC-API documentation.

The decision regarding the publication of VC-API should and will follow the W3C process, the VC WG charter and VC WG agreement reached in the environment where no individual or company feels like their integrity can be questioned.

Best,
Kristina

That is what Editors (and Contributors) do... they edit specifications based on the consensus position of the group.

If you look at the record, you will see a variety of participants in the weekly VC API Work Item calls spanning back more than a year:

https://w3c-ccg.github.io/meetings/<https://nam06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fw3c-ccg.github.io%2Fmeetings%2F&data=05%7C01%7Ckristina.yasuda%40microsoft.com%7Ce08a4e9f171d4cef900308dacaaccd6d%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C638045140804858263%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=neoplOxmZAndyzsMVddo1Qkt5%2Bb9HvAydzU5EABn%2BCI%3D&reserved=0>

with detailed notes on each issue before we achieve consensus and mark an issue as "ready for PR":

To follow your logic, let's take a look at the top contributors to the Verifiable Credentials Data Model specification[1]:

... and the DID Core specification[2]:

I expect that, even though the contribution statistics are similar for those specifications, that you wouldn't insist that this is the work of a single organization given that these specifications went through W3C CGs and WGs and are now global standards.

> I think it's fairer to characterize it as your/Digital Bazaar's specification, instead of attempting to publish this note under the auspices of the community/entire WG.

Please don't mischaracterize the number of people that have contributed to and implemented the VC API specification over the years, especially in your position as co-Chair of the VCWG, and especially when we have public records to the contrary of your assertions.
