I think the underlying problem is how to pay people adequately for effort they spend producing abstract works that can be distributed with almost zero cost.

Isn't expending part of that effort creating artificial scarcity a retrograde step; a red herring?

Aren't DIDs and VCs, as being standardised, already working towards a decentralised solution to the payment problem?

Or to put it another way; somebody once said:

"Money is like blood. Large pools of it are a bad idea."
