Dear Lisa Many thanks and it is very interesting how long we have all quoted the document and how language changes over time or is interpreted in different ways. But I agree if we could get 'cognitive' into the initial sentence it would cover more impairments. I am not sure about 'learning' as that is a process. I don't think we can leave comments on your google document at the moment. Best wishes E.A. Hi Folks I started looking at the UN Convention and it is open to being interpreted in a highly discriminatory way. For example article 1 states: "Persons with disabilities include those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others". physical, mental, intellectual or sensory does not clarify that this also includes learning and cognitive. It is critical that we clarify that these groups are included even when IQ (intellectual) and mental health (also called a mental illness) are not affected. I made google docs<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1meD06mSclKFIX7U5fOz58thqgAT6jEVLkATiprG-FH8%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=04%7C01%7Cead%40ecs.soton.ac.uk%7Ca970c75d80184395d6e308d97753fc50%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0%7C0%7C637672024870319462%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=49lDWVjGObR4edIf9fKHKtB4GKbjkkgy%2BIZbMMypYHM%3D&reserved=0> to collect comments. I think it is very important. All the best Lisa
