RE: Breakouts Day session proposal proposal

Hi Matthew,

Looking forward to the slides and presentation.

As far as accessibility metadata is concerned - for me that is also another "well-known destination", though we haven't discussed the exact content to be part of the metadata.

As suggested by you, we can take it up in future when we have more concrete details on it.

Thanks,
Abhinav Kumar

Thanks, Abhinav. When I'm back on the 5th, let's all review the slides (I'll
come up with some suggestions before the meeting), and we can discuss whom
may wish to present what.

Regarding the scope of the presentation - including the metadata aspect or
not - there are two really important things to bear in mind when introducing
new ideas to the wider community: (1) ensuring we only present what has
consensus of the task force that we represent; and (2) keeping it as simple
as possible (only introducing one new concept at a time). This can help us
on the sometimes longer-than-expected road of making the case for a spec,
and building consensus within the wider community.

The metadata work that you suggested is something I think all of us in the
Adapt TF are interested in exploring further; but at the moment, the task
force's consensus is that we should pursue the 'well-known destinations'
part of the work (which includes having a well-known URI for the
accessibility statement, as per your suggestion). Whilst we might get
consensus around the metadata part in future, we don't have it yet, and we
don't really have a solid proposal around it just yet either - so it's not
appropriate for us to include it in this breakout session.

There will be opportunities to shout about the metadata work, should it gain
consensus, in future. I think that the W3C conference ("TPAC") in September
may be too soon, but it is one possibility.

Best regards,

Matthew
