I think there have been 4 namespaces: http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema five or six Public WDs http://www.w3.org/2000/08/XMLSchema Last Call PWD http://www.w3.org/2000/10/XMLSchema CR http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema PR and REC I'm pretty sure the PWDs before Last Call were _not_ all backward compatible, despite sharing a namespace. The others (2000/08, 2000/10 and 2001) are definitely not interoperable, forward or backward. ht -- Henry S.
