The current character tables in annex B are based on Unicode 2.0. Unfortunately, that results in confusing classifications. For example, U+212E, ESTIMATED SYMBOL, is allowed as a BaseChar. In Unicode 3.0, it is classified as So (Symbol, Other), and would not be allowed as a letter. Regards, Martin
