It's taken a long time to get back to this while plowing through the summer's old mail. I think this is a good idea to consider if and only if it doesn't take us back to last call or otherwise delay the process (I suspect it would.) We have surely made significant enhancements. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Noah Mendelsohn Voice: 1-617-693-4036 IBM Corporation Fax: 1-617-693-8676 One Rogers Street Cambridge, MA 02142 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Baker <distobj@acm.org> Sent by: xml-dist-app-request@w3.org 07/30/2002 02:22 PM To: xml-dist-app@w3.org cc: (bcc: Noah Mendelsohn/Cambridge/IBM) Subject: SOAP version Given the Web Method feature, and its major architectural impact, I wonder if the opportunity exists to change the SOAP version to 2.0 from 1.2? Obviously not a huge deal, but it might make developers ask "Hmm, I wonder why the major version change?". I guess the question is, would the process allow for this to happen at this stage? Something for the group to discuss during lunch. 8-) MB -- Mark Baker, CTO, Idokorro Mobile (formerly Planetfred) Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA. distobj@acm.org http://www.markbaker.ca http://www.idokorro.com
