CR-25 response: Change the name of the CDATA Type

To the W3C XML Schema workgroup:

The W3C XML Schema Working Group has spent the last several weeks working
through the comments received from the public on the Candidate
Recommendation (CR) of the XML Schema specification. All comments received
during the CR comment period have been recorded in our CR issues list (
http://www.w3.org/2000/12/xmlschema-crcomments.html).

This note discusses the resolution of an issue raised by the schema
workgroup itself. The chairs have asked that formal responses such as this
one be sent for such issues, so that the record of all responses can be
completed.

The issue identified as CR-25 was:

Title: CDATA-name: Should the name CDATA be changed?

Resolution: At the recent face to face meeting in London, the workgroup
decided to change the name of the datatype to: "normalizedString".

Regards,

Noah Mendelsohn
XML Schema Working Group
