As part of our consensus review we asked RDF Core [1] At 17:17 -0500 2/20/03, Jim Hendler wrote: > >ii.Constraints on rdf:parsetype="Collection" > >We would prefer that rdf:parsetype="Collection" would be allowed to >be a list of datatype literals, not just a list of RDF node >elements. They ask us whether the decision is acceptable, and since this was a consensus review I believe we owe a consensus response. Wearing my chair hat, I suggest we as a WG should consider this an acceptable decision - there was not a strong feeling on the part of the WG when we discussed the review that this was a "drop dead" issue. If anyone feels strongly that this is not an acceptable response, please let me and the WG know (on our mailing list) and we can discuss. -JH >To: Jim Hendler <hendler@cs.umd.edu> >Cc: www-rdf-comments@w3.org >X-URI: http://purl.org/net/dajobe/ >Subject: [closed] hendler-01 literals in parsetype collection >Date: Thu, 20 Mar 2003 22:47:07 +0000 >From: Dave Beckett <dave.beckett@bristol.ac.uk> >Sender: Dave Beckett <dave.beckett@bristol.ac.uk> >X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.1 required=5.0 > tests=SPAM_PHRASE_03_05 > version=2.43 >X-Spam-Level: * > > >Jim, > >You on behalf of the Web Ontology Working Group (WOWG) made a last >call comment "Web Ontology Working Group Consensus Review of RDF Core >documents" captured in > > http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/RDFCore/20030123-issues/#hendler-01 > >Your email raising the issue: > http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-rdf-comments/2003JanMar/0335.html >section "WOWG comments on RDF language decisions" >part ii.Constraints on rdf:parsetype="Collection" > > >The RDF Core WG has resolved > > http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-rdfcore-wg/2003Mar/0068.html > >to postpone this issue on the grounds that: > > * It would require extensive changes to the current syntax specification. > * It is not a critical requirement for the WebOnt WG. > * It would involve considering several different approaches, taking > time and consequent changes to the RDF/XML Syntax, Test Cases, > Primer working drafts and implementations. > >Please reply to this email, copying www-rdf-comments@w3.org indicating >whether this decision is acceptable. > >Dave [1] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-rdf-comments/2003JanMar/0335.html -- Professor James Hendler hendler@cs.umd.edu Director, Semantic Web and Agent Technologies 301-405-2696 Maryland Information and Network Dynamics Lab. 301-405-6707 (Fax) Univ of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742 240-731-3822 (Cell) http://www.cs.umd.edu/users/hendler
