Problems with page validation site?

I have been trying to use the page validation sites today and everytime I
press the validate page button I get a "The page cannot be displayed" web
page popping up.  I am using the following sites:
http://www.w3schools.com/site/site_validate.asp
and
http://validator.w3.org/

The latter web site will not even display it takes me to the message "The
page cannot be displayed" instead of the site.

Are these validation sites down?
