about method:DELETE and PUT

hi!everybody.
The HTTP protocol has define seven method:GET,HEAD,POST,PUT,DELETE.
LINK and UNLINK.We often use GET and POST,HEAD method can be used to see
header information.
the NASA httpd_1.4.2 has also support DELETE and PUT,but I have not
see any example of using DELETE and PUT.Could you tell me how to use
theses two methods.
Using telnet+server-name+80 ,we can test GET and HEAD? How can we test
DELETE and PUT?
