In the current HTTP/1.0 draft, the Entity-header fields include Version and Derived-From headers which, as the draft notes, are useful for versioned servers. How can other information, not covered by the headers, be passed on to the version control system (such as a description of changes made), and how can information such as the version control method used for a file be requested? Where would the right place be to put such information in the PUT request, or is it in fact beyond the scope of PUT? Thanks, Steve.
