Null char at end of Netscape headers?

On a site I manage we've recently had problems with a small number of
people not being able to submit forms properly. We've now tracked this
down to an extra null character being inserted after the blank line
following the headers. When the form data is read in this then appears
as the first character instead of the real first character of the form,
screwing up its interpretation.

So far all the reports for this problem have been for Netscape 1.1N for
X, but I have yet to confirm this completely. Has anyone else come
across this happening?
