As far as I can remember, this is the first time that somebody from the EcmaScript side has sent such an invitation. In retrospective, I think it would have made a lot of sense to send such a mail (with a few more pointers) to the IETF JSON WG when ECMA 404 was being drafted. I have checked the bugs that were already there, and submitted two additional bugs.
