Good point. It wasn't my intention to be unbalanced. I'll try and work in more of a balanced perspective. -------------------------------------- Noah Mendelsohn IBM Corporation One Rogers Street Cambridge, MA 02142 1-617-693-4036 -------------------------------------- "Rice, Ed (ProCurve)" <ed.rice@hp.com> 12/19/2006 12:36 PM To: <noah_mendelsohn@us.ibm.com>, <www-tag@w3.org> cc: Subject: RE: Very rough draft of outline for TAG submssion to Workshop on Web of Services for Enterprise Computing Interesting paper.. But I thought we also discussed the down-side to REST which doesn't appear to be covered in this paper at all. I think it makes a better case to explain when to use REST, when to use SOAP xml packages. I do believe Web Services are an integral part of the over-all web, but I also think the web is much more than 'just' html. I'd love to see this paper reflect more of that. My 2.75 cents. _Ed -----Original Message----- From: www-tag-request@w3.org [mailto:www-tag-request@w3.org] On Behalf Of noah_mendelsohn@us.ibm.com Sent: Monday, December 18, 2006 4:41 PM To: www-tag@w3.org Subject: Very rough draft of outline for TAG submssion to Workshop on Web of Services for Enterprise Computing The W3C is planning to hold a Workshop on Web of Services for Enterprise Computing in Bedford, MA USA on 27-28 February, 2006. At its face to face meeting of 11 December 2006, the TAG agreed that Noah Mendelsohn would represent the TAG at the workshop, and that he with help from David Orchard would draft an outline of a position paper to be submitted by the TAG to that workshop. The attached document contains the first draft of that outline (not yet reviewed by Mr. Orchard). I intend this version primarily for review by the TAG itself, but in the spirit of keep as much as possible public, I'm sending this directly to www-tag. In any case, this is a very rough, nearly stream-of-consciousness cut at an outline. If you see something that concerns you, by all means comment briefly, but please don't take any offense (just yet). Thanks!
