Dear www-tag,
This is a summary of the TAG's activity from 10 May 2002
(date of the previous summary [1]) to 9 June 2002.
The TAG had three teleconferences during this period; summaries
of those meetings are linked from the TAG home page [2].
During the current period, the TAG has primarily:
1) Published the following completed findings:
- "Internet Media Type registration, consistency of use":
http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/2002/0129-mime
--------
Abstract
Internet Media Types are an important part of the Web
architecture. This finding discusses three aspects of Internet
Media Types: registration by W3C Working Groups, consistency
between Internet Media Type and content, and consistency in
the communication of character encoding information.
--------
2) Discussed the following draft findings:
-Qnames as Identifiers (issue qnameAsId-18)
http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/qnameids
-URIs, Addressability, and the use of GET (issue whenToUseGet-7)
http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/get7
3) Accepted the following new issues:
-formattingProperties-19: Reuse existing formatting
properties/names, coordinate new ones
http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#formattingProperties-19
-errorHandling-20 : What should specifications say about
error handling?
http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#errorHandling-20
- RFC3023Charset-21 : Do all "shoulds" of RFC 3023 section
7.1 apply?
http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#RFC3023Charset-21
4) Reached a decision on the following issues:
- w3cMediaType-1,customMediaType-2: Resolved by finding
"Internet Media Type registration, consistency of use."
- charmodReview-17: The TAG resolved which comments to
send to the I18N WG; the final form of the comments is not
yet available, but is described in the minutes of the 3
June teleconference:
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-tag/2002Jun/0019
5) Architecture Document
The TAG has made some progress on the Architecture Document
and is expecting more resources from W3M for that part of
their work.
