Dear www-tag, This is a summary of the TAG's activity from 10 May 2002 (date of the previous summary [1]) to 9 June 2002. The TAG had three teleconferences during this period; summaries of those meetings are linked from the TAG home page [2]. During the current period, the TAG has primarily: 1) Published the following completed findings: - "Internet Media Type registration, consistency of use": http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/2002/0129-mime -------- Abstract Internet Media Types are an important part of the Web architecture. This finding discusses three aspects of Internet Media Types: registration by W3C Working Groups, consistency between Internet Media Type and content, and consistency in the communication of character encoding information. -------- 2) Discussed the following draft findings: -Qnames as Identifiers (issue qnameAsId-18) http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/qnameids -URIs, Addressability, and the use of GET (issue whenToUseGet-7) http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/get7 3) Accepted the following new issues: -formattingProperties-19: Reuse existing formatting properties/names, coordinate new ones http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#formattingProperties-19 -errorHandling-20 : What should specifications say about error handling? http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#errorHandling-20 - RFC3023Charset-21 : Do all "shoulds" of RFC 3023 section 7.1 apply? http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#RFC3023Charset-21 4) Reached a decision on the following issues: - w3cMediaType-1,customMediaType-2: Resolved by finding "Internet Media Type registration, consistency of use." - charmodReview-17: The TAG resolved which comments to send to the I18N WG; the final form of the comments is not yet available, but is described in the minutes of the 3 June teleconference: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-tag/2002Jun/0019 5) Architecture Document The TAG has made some progress on the Architecture Document and is expecting more resources from W3M for that part of their work.
