Following this and other comments, the SVG WG has resolved to drop the functional notation (originally introduced in CSS 2) such as font(). Instead, the value of requiredFormats is simply a space-separated list of Internet Media types. In consequence, the particular section you quote thus has only the first three Internet media types, and drops the image() one.
