The only normative conformance criteria I could find in chapter 3 were: * a statement to the effect that implementations may deviate from the spec, something which is explicitly redundant with the conformance requirements appendix, and * a passing statement saying that fills and strokes must act as if they were done to an intermediate transparent black canvas.
