Presumably the discussion in this thread with sampling methods, but is there no halfway house, we don't alwayss need to precisely know what colour it is, just if it's black or white, and it would be very nice for it to be available on SVG images. I'd like to encourage dropping the limitation to binary images, even if we have to compromise on the returned result. Jim.
