This sounds reasonable to me as well. I have one worry though: even though it is the most important change UAs do for printing, disabling backgrounds isn't necessarily the only one, and maybe we should try to have something a little more generic that can deal with the rest. But maybe I am over thinking this, as your proposal addresses effectively the dominant use case. Let's talk schedule this for a coming conf call, and if the group agrees, I'll add it to the spec. - Florian
