Indeed, I would like this thread to be closed given that an agreement has
been reached on his initial subject (the philosophy behind the
[css-variables] proposal), and that the ongoing discussion seems to have
shifted again to the variable syntax. The final syntax will be subject to
vote in a future CSS WG telcon and Tab already collected enough feedback and
proposals to craft a good optionset to present to the WG members (no-op,
$foo, x-foo, ...) with pros and cons. As multiple WG members followed the
CSS variable threads, I don't think we have to worry about repeating our
arguments anymore.
That being said, if there are still people having remarks about the syntax
(nothing wrong with it), I would like to ask them to do so in another, more
appropriate thread.
