CSS 2.1 currently does say that it's based on the list-item's directionality, so fantasai may be referring to discussions leading to that. (In any case, the fact that CSS 2.1 and css3-lists currently conflict with each other on this point does mean that at least one of the two will need changing.) pjrm.
