The CSS WG just published the new draft of the Color Module that was
already briefly discussed on this mailing list. The URL is:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/WD-css3-color-20080721/
It was necessary to publish another Working Draft, because we needed to
remove a few features that have not been implemented (as far as we
know). Those features were not marked as being "at risk" in the
previous Candidate Recommendation, and so we couldn't just remove them
and go to (Proposed) Recommendation directly.
Those dropped features[2] are the properties to specify color profiles
for external images and the 'flavor' property.
There are no other changes to the specification and so we expect that
the next publication will be a Proposed Recommendation (i.e., we skip
Candidate Recommendation), as soon as we are happy with the test
suite[1].
Nevertheless, this *is* another, last, call for comments and we will
discuss all new feedback to see if there aren't any flaws in the
specification that we didn't notice in the previous round.
If you send comments, please, do as usual: send them to this mailing
list, <www-style@w3.org>, and prefix the subject line with [css3-color]
as I did on this message. The deadline is September 1.
