It's not. That requires a group of people together in one room, because
it depends on a whole group of people being able to listen to everything
the others say. On a mailing list, some of the people write enough that
some of the others don't have time to read what they write, so they tune
out of the whole discussion. A verbal discussion is limited by only one
person being able to talk at once. If you want to reach a wide audience
on this list, you need to get to the point reasonably quickly and use an
appropriate "Subject:" header.
