What is the motivation to 'be able to insert the current date/time into the header/footer area' (according to 'Running headers and footers' proposal [1])? This condition doesn't seem to make much sense since it's far more important to visualize the last (textual) update, so I disagree. By the way, also see Jakob Nielsen's remarks on problems with undated and misleadingly dated content, e.g. due to file modification dates [2]. All the best, Jens.
