The CSS working group published no less than 6 documents yesterday. Some of you already found them. [css3-content] "CSS3 Generated and Replaced Content Module" This module focuses on the 'content' property and its relations. It is the first draft of the module and thus there are a lot of new ideas. Many of the features could be done in other ways and we haven't considered all of them yet, so we need feedback... [css3-speech] "CSS3 Speech Module" This is the new speech module of CSS. There are some incompatibilities with the CSS2 ACSS chapter (which was never implemented), but instead it will be kept compatible with the Speech Synthesis Mark-up Language, as that draft progresses. Like Content above, this is the first draft of the module. [css3-text] "CSS3 Text Module" This is a Candidate Recommendation (CR), which means the theory should now be done and the job is for the implementations to see if it works. Comments are still welcome, but we're more reluctant to change anything, unless it turns out to be not implementable in practice. It will stay CR for at least six months before we will consider promoting it to Recommendation. The test suite will also be written during those six months; contributions welcome. [css3-ruby] "CSS3 Ruby Module" This describes the layout for the Ruby (inline annotation) elements of HTML. Like Text, it is a Candidate Recommendation. [css3-color] "CSS3 Color Module" Also a Candidate Recommendation. [css-tv] "CSS TV Profile 1.0" This one has been CR since last August, but we had to republish because of a small change in the Color module when it became a CR: 'opacity' now simply accepts a number; the optional second argument ("priority") has been removed. As usual, when you comment on these documents, please prefix the subject with the document's short name, e.g "[css3-content]". That makes it easier for the editors to find the messages in the archive.
